Back again after a forced absence is the best known ukulele festival in the UK.
We have a song writing competition, kindly sponsored by Stones Music. Watch the video here for an introduction and to see the prize, but the basic criteria is this :
Criteria for the competition is:
- Write a song abaout ukuleles
- Mention cats somewhere in the song
- We will record you performing your song at some point on Saturday 18th June at the main GNUF venue
- The Competition is open to individuals, groups and artists attending GNUF - you must have a wristband to enter - prize won't be awarded to artists performing at GNUF (not including Mim's stage).
- The winner will be judged by staff members of Cool Cat Ukes
- Songs should prominently feature ukulele(s), and be performed by the songwriter(s)
- Your song may be used as part of video reporting for Cool Cat Ukes and GNUF
- Judging criteria will be what makes us laugh/cry, what we like, bias will be given to attendees over artists, bribery in the form of biscuits accepted...
- It's for fun. If you are here, you would probably know that by now!
- Entrants should also email their intent to enter to topcat@coolcatukes.com so that we can make sure we find you and record your entry at the festival - please give us your intent to enter by the end of 16th of June 2022
- Entries are limited to 16 entries, first booked, first served
